Mary Anne Knox, 85, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at the Alverno on December 2nd, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7th at the Greater True Love Baptist Church (955 S 18th Street in Clinton). Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Church. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mary was born May 26th 1928 in Smithdale, Mississippi the daughter of Eugene and Lela (Swaington)Weatherspoon. She was united in marriage to Mail Knox on July 15th, 1946 in Bude, Mississippi.
Mary was a homemaker and a Sunday school teacher. She was a faithful member of the 2nd Baptist Church. She loved to cook and can foods and greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Mary is survived by three daughters - Mary Knox, Janice Knox and Margaret Knox all of Clinton, Iowa; seven sons - McDaniel Knox of Clinton, IA., Melvin (Joyce) Knox of Ponchatoula, LA, John Davis Knox of Clinton, IA., Moease Knox of Maron, OH., Marshall Knox of Clinton, IA., Larry (Marion) Knox of Clinton, IA., Patrick Wayne Knox of Clinton, IA.; twenty nine grandchildren, many great grandchildren, several great great grandchildern; two sisters - Eula Rogers of McComb, MS. and Glori Jean Rogers of Las Vegas, NV and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mail, four grandchildren, two sisters and one brother.
