Mary Alice Keis, 88, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, July 30, 2016. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mary was born January 8, 1928 in Meadville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Frank and Jessie (Hambel) Eickart. She was united in marriage to Daniel Keis on July 22, 1947 in West Virginia - Daniel passed away on December 29, 2004.
Mary worked at the F.W. Woolworth department store for many years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and loved to read. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be sadly missed.
Mary is survived by one daughter - Joyce (Sam) Phillips of Blackfoot, ID, two sons - Dan (Peggy) Keis Jr. of Clinton, IA and Frank Keis of MO; one daughter in-law - Deb Keis of Davenport, IA; two sisters - Rose Tobey of Crystal River, FL and Marge Pachuck of Harmonsburg, ID; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Mary in death were her parents, her husband, one daughter - Grace, one son - Harley and one granddaughter - Julie Keis-Hessing.
