Obituary for Mary Catherine Holt (Wright)
Mary Catherine Holt, 61, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Funeral services occur at 12 pm on Wednesday, December 2, at the Clinton Church of Christ. A visitation occurs one-hour prior from 11 am until the service hour at the Church. Following the service, cremation rites will be accorded with burial at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Mary was born September 18, 1959 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Kenneth Sr. and Elizabeth (Heck) Wright. Mary was united in marriage to Philip “Phil” Holt on April 13, 1984 in Clinton, Iowa.
Mary worked at Harbor Crest Nursing Home, as a CNA, for 12 years. She also spent countless hours at the Clinton Church of Christ, whether it was singing in the church choir, cooking for church events, cleaning the church or any other work needed – she was volunteering.
Mary loved to sing, not just in the church choir, she would often just start singing - with that beautiful voice she was blessed with. She also enjoyed sewing and loved her two cats – Mini and Patches. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.
Mary is survived by her husband – Phil of Clinton, her children – David Holt, Michael Holt, Tiffany (Travis) Drury and Donovan Holt all Clinton; her siblings - Diana (Brian) Harrison, John Wright, Sharon (Joe) Stoddard, Jeff (Penny) Wright, Pattie Wright; with several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and Church family.
Preceding Mary in death are her parents and one brother Kenneth “Butch” Wright Jr.
