Obituary for Mary Hazel Hayton (King)

Mary Hazel Hayton, 67, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at Proctor Hospital (Peoria, Illinois) on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Funeral services take place at 6 pm on Tuesday, December 14, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. A visitation occurs two-hours prior from 4 pm until the service hour at the funeral home. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the services with private burial taking place at later date at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Mary was born September 13, 1954 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Allan and Mildred (Wakeland) King. She was united in marriage to Charles Hayton on October 12, 1971 in Clinton.

She was a homemaker who loved her family dearly.

Mary enjoyed games of chance and would often visit area Casinos to test her luck; she also enjoyed playing Bingo. Another favorite of hers was watching TV, with her daily routine always including watching the TV program – “Days of our Lives”. She loved her cats that she had throughout her life and enjoyed taking day-trips with her husband. Above all, she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her husband Charles Hayton of Clinton; her children - Albert (Jill) Hayton of Clinton and Tracy (David) Jensen of Clinton; five grandchildren – Zachary (Samantha) Hayton, Noah Hayton, Zane Jensen, Rylee Jensen and Emersen Jensen all of Clinton; one sister – Elizabeth Bousman of Clinton and one brother – Allan “Ike” King of Clinton; one step-sister - Jenny Hunter of Ohio; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister – Linda Bates.
