Mary Alice Griebel-Meyer, 80, of Camanche, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Saturday, July 2, 2016. A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday July 10, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive Clinton, Iowa). A visitation will occur two hours prior to the funeral service from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service with burial taking place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mary was born July 6, 1935 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Edwin and Clara (Hanson) Finch. She was united in marriage to Laverne Griebel on November 22, 1952 - Laverne passed away in 1961. She then married Delbert Leifker in 1962 - they would later divorce. She then married Charles Ambrose Meyer on November 26, 1982 in Preston, Iowa - Charles passed away in 2012.
Mary was a housewife and worked for many years at Collis Company. She loved going walleye fishing and enjoyed bowling and spending time at the Casino. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be sadly missed.
Mary is survived by one daughter - Lyn (Patrick) Lamey of Suffolk, VA; three sons – Dan (Diane) Griebel of Camanche, IA, Richard (Judy) Griebel of Camanche, IA, Mark Griebel of Fulton, IL; eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and other extended family.
Preceding Mary in death were her parents, her husband's Laverne Griebel and Charles Meyer, one daughter - Dorothy, two sisters and five brothers.
