Mary Elizabeth Gale, 74, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at The Alverno on Sunday, October 16, 2022. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with no services scheduled. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Mary was born January 21, 1948, in Clarinda, Iowa, the daughter of LaVerne and Gladys (Adams) Reynolds. She was united in marriage to Ronald E. Gale Sr. on December 13, 1968, in Rockford, Illinois – Ronald passed in January 2020.

Mary was a line worker at Crust Foods in Dixon, Illinois, for many years.

Mary enjoyed working puzzles, quilting, and canning fruits and vegetables. She loved the outdoors, especially tending to her garden. Mary enjoyed and tending to the many animals she had on the farm; she always loved her cats too. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.

Mary is survived by her daughter — Brenda Downs of Dixon, Illinois; one grandson — Jacob Gale of South Dakota; one great-great-grandchild — Adelyn Gale; two brothers — Doug Reynolds of Conrad, Iowa, and Junior (Anita) Reynolds of Marshalltown, Iowa; with many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and several siblings.
