Mary Ellen Roberts, 75, of Camanche, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Monday, June 8, 2020. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with services at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Mary Ellen was born June 27, 1944 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Albert and Marion (Martin) Timmer. She was a 1962 graduate of Preston High School and in 1965 acquired her nursing degree at Mother Francis School of Nursing in Tyler, Texas.

Mary Ellen was united in marriage to Homer Roberts on October 8, 1966 in Preston, Iowa.

She was a member of the Church of the Visitation in Camanche. Throughout her extensive career as a nurse, Mary Ellen worked at various health clinics, hospitals and nursing homes in the local area.
Mary Ellen enjoyed chatting with family and friends on the phone - keeping up with what the family was doing was a favorite past-time. She also enjoyed eating sweets and loved spoiling her fur-babies – her dogs. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be sadly missed.

Mary Ellen is survived by her daughter – Charlott Glowacki of Clinton; grandchildren – Giddeon Glowacki and Gabrielle Glowacki both of Davenport; great-grandson – Kayden Glowacki of Mount Carroll, Il; sister – Donna Kilburg of Camanche and brother Bernard (Linda) Timmer of Preston, IA; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Preceding Mary Ellen in death were her parents, husband and son - Mitchell.
