Obituary for Marvin Carl "Uncle Marv" Jensen

Marvin Carl Jensen "Uncle Marv" 88, of Andover, Iowa crossed over to Eternal Life at his home on Friday, September 18, 2020 with loving family by his side. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with a graveside service taking place at 11 AM on Saturday September 26 at Dierks Cemetery. Serving as honorary pallbearers are nephews Jesse, Faron, Shane, Tony, Logan, and Micah Cram and Joel and Shawn Pray. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Marvin was born December 12, 1931 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Marvin E. and Anna H. (Andersen) Jensen.
He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army.

Marvin was an active long-time member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Andover.

He was a distinguished member of the Andover Lions Club.

Marvin retired from ADM after 41 years, working as an operator in the Refinery building.

For years he enjoyed farming with his long-time friend Dale Kruse. He also enjoyed playing cards and visiting with neighbors and friends. Mornings during the week, he enjoyed socializing with friends at the Lyon’s Filling Station.

Marvin is survived by a brother in law David Mohr of Charlotte, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a large extended family who will all miss Uncle Marv.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald, sisters Madonna “Sis” Cram, Shirley Mohr, and Betty Pray, a nephew and two nieces.

Memorials made can be directed to the Andover Lions Club, the Andover Faith Lutheran Church or the Miles American Legion.
