Martha Jane Dauen, 82, of Clinton passed away peacefully at Mercy Medical Center – South Campus on October 19th, 2011. Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 22nd, at 2:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes South Chapel.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to funeral service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family.
Martha was born on January 24th, 1929 in Camanche, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Daisy (Green) Henry. She married Donald Dauen on July 8th, 1961 in Rock Island, Illinois.
Martha worked at a variety of companies including, The Savanna Army Depot, The Curtis Company, Burpee Seed, and finally retiring after 28 years at Clinton Bennett Box as a shop floor supervisor. Following her retirement she and her husband farmed.
Martha enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening and canning, taking care of animals, and overall just loved tending to the farm.
Martha is survived by her husband Donald, 1 daughter- Martha (Ron) Huizenga, 1 son – David Henry, 1 step-son – Donald Dauen Jr., 4 nieces, 6 nephews, 4 Grand Children, 5 Great Grand Children, 2 Great Great Grand Children, special friends and relatives Monica Shadle, Nichole Lampe-Burke and her husband Ed Burke.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 child, 1 great great granddaughter Allahnah Emmert, 3 sisters – Zepha, Alma, and Liz and 2 brothers – Jim and Jack.
