Obituary for Marshall "Bubba" Knox, Sr,

Marshall “Bubba” Knox, Sr., 67, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Cremation rites will be accorded with a Funeral service taking place at 12 pm on Saturday, October 22, at Lemke Funeral Homes — South Chapel. A visitation occurs one hour prior from 11 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Marshall was born May 4, 1955 in Franklin County, Mississippi, the son of Mail and Mary (Swaington) Knox.

Marshall was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Clinton, Iowa. He worked at the Jim Walter Window Company and later at International Paper.

Marshall loved the outdoors, especially taking long walks and getting out to go fishing. He also enjoyed watching old movies and TV programs. When he went out to an event, he was a sharp dressed man. Marshall would spend hours listening to Gospel music and found his faith in Jesus.

Marshall is survived by his children – Marshall Knox Jr., Lecesha (Joe) Oliver and Isabell Knox; grandchildren - Serenity Lynch, Genesis Moody and Xavi’ Onni Moody, Ashanti Knox and Malachi Oliver, Marshall and Roslind Knox; great-grandchild – Jovanni Salvador Knox; three sisters – Mary Knox, Janice Knox and Margaret Knox; five brothers – Melvin (Joyce) Knox, John Knox, Moease (Chris) Knox, Larry (Marion) Knox and Patrick Knox; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother- McDaniel Knox.
