Obituary for Marjorie M. "Marge" Davis (Meighan)
Marjorie M. Davis, 72, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at home on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Honoring her final request, cremation rites have been accorded with no services. Lemke Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Marjorie was born February 2, 1949 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Walter and Darliene (Kennedy) Meighan. Darliene later married Lester M. Brandenburg and the two of them raised Marjorie.
Marge was united in marriage to her best friend Donald Davis on April 16, 1972 in Clinton, Iowa.
Marge loved her fur baby, Rico (Coco) Davis. Marge was an avid collector of angels, V.C. Andrews books, and her most beloved “As Seen on TV” items. Marge loved spending her time going out shopping and visits to the Casino with her family.
Above all she was the foundation of her family, everyone’s home away from home at any point in her life. She loved her family more than anything else, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was loved and adored by many, and was a beacon of strength for every life she touched.
Marge is survived by one son and one daughter in law– Jim and Nancy Schmidt of Belleville, Il; one daughter – Wendy Davis of Clinton, IA; 11 grandchildren- Molly, Deven, Tia, Haille, Elizabeth, Heather, P.J., Meggi, J.R., Brandon, and Gabriel; and 6 great-grandchildren – with one on the way; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.
Preceding Marge in death were her parents, her husband- Don, one son – Donnie, 2 sisters- Pat and Judy, and her two fur babies- Max and Casper.
Memorials made can be directed to the family, and she requested any donations to be made out in her name to St. Jude Children’s hospital.
