Marilyn Ruth Ravis, 87, of Camanche, Iowa, passed away at the Alverno on Sunday, July 2, 2017. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 7, at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Marilyn was born November 18, 1929 in her parents' home in Clinton, the daughter of Sven and Elizabeth (Ray) Jorgensen. She was a graduate of Clinton High School. Marilyn was united in marriage to John Ravis, in Camanche, Iowa. John passed away in 1993.
Marilyn worked at JC Penny, working in various departments, retiring after 25+ years.
She enjoyed playing cards, working cross word puzzles and loved to read. She loved spending her weekends with her sister and brother and their spouses. She loved her fur baby – Belle - her little Shih Tzu. Above all she loved her family very much and loved spending time with them. She will be sadly missed by all.
Marilyn is survived by her children – Jim (Rita) Reggelsen of Clinton, IA, Deb (Doug) Haack of Clinton, IA, Beth (Gail) Bruggenwirth of Sabula, IA, Guy (Brenda) Reggelsen of Clinton, IA, Jane (Ed) Dirks of Marion, IA, Linda (Jay) Nielsen of Camanche, IA, John (Beth) Ravis of Yukon, OK; her grandchildren – Arron, Lisa, Kerry, Marv, Jim, Angie, Shawn, Jason, Ryan, Coy, Heidi, Lucas, Sam, Becky, Chelsea, Kylie, Matthew, Evan, Jakob; 29 great-grandchildren with one on the way; one sister in-law – Darla Jorgensen of Clinton, IA and one brother in-law – Ray Meyermann of Camanche, IA; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding Marilyn in death were her parents, her husband - John, her son in-law - Terry, one sister – Jeannette and one brother – Ray.
