Obituary for Marilyn Gesina Neymeyer (DeBuhr)

Marilyn Gesina Neymeyer, 89, of Savanna, Illinois, formerly of Camanche, Iowa, passed away at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna on Monday, January 9, 2023. Funeral services occur at 2 pm on Monday, January 16, at Lemke Funeral Homes — South Chapel. A visitation takes place 1 hour prior from 1 pm until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche, Iowa. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Marilyn was born May 15, 1933 in in Wellsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Harm and Margaret (Tjaden) BeBuhr.
She was united in marriage to Jacob Neymeyer on December 4, 1951. They were together 35 years until his passing in 1986.

Marilyn was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Clinton, Iowa.

Marilyn took pride in being a homemaker and loved to bake for her loved ones. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. Later in life, Marilyn and her dear friend Arthur Temple would take trips to local nursing homes and visit the residents weekly, this was their top activity to do together. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be incredibly missed.

Marilyn is survived by two daughters — Mavis Neymeyer of Oak Ridge, TN and Jean (Terry) Schmidt of Davenport; three sons — Ronald (Brenda) Neymeyer of Camanche, Dale (Patricia) Neymeyer of Camanche, and Randy Neymeyer of Lake Tapps, WA; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; with several nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband — Jacob, son — Lee Taylor, two brothers, one sister, and special friend — Arthur Temple.
