Obituary for Marian Behrens

Marian Elaine Behrens, 90, of Clinton Iowa passed away peacefully at the Alverno on Monday, January 19, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, at Lemke Funeral Homes - North Chapel (2304 North Second Street) and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Burial will take place at the Andover Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Marian was born June 3, 1924 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Virtus and Helma (Petersen) Rittmer. She attended Clinton County rural schools. She was united in marriage to Harold "Pic" Behrens on March 16, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa.
Marian was a homemaker most of her life, however she did work briefly at the Clinton Garment Factory during WWII and later part-time at Potters Green House.

Marian and Pic loved to go dancing with their club at the Odeon and the Moose Lodge. Marian also enjoyed playing cards in her various clubs and was an avid Cubs fan. Above all she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marion is survived by two sons - Roland (Celia) Behrens of Andover, IA., Allen (Mary Jo) Behrens of Clinton, IA.; one son in-law- Bruce Woods of Fulton, IL.; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sister in-laws and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Marion in death were her parents, her husband Pic, one daughter - Luann Woods and one sister.
Memorials made can be directed to the Faith Lutheran church in Andover, the Veterans Honor Flight or a charity of your choice.
