Margery Ann Jacobsen, 82, of Clinton, Iowa passed away on March 19, 2014 at the Alverno. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 24, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 manufacturing drive - west side of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). A visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Margery was born April 12, 1931 in Missouri Valley, Iowa the daughter of John and Grace (Crouse) Lowther. She was a 1949 graduate of Lyons High School in Clinton. Margery was united in marriage to H. Martin Jacobsen on June 17, 1951 in Clinton.
Margery was a member of the Lyons Methodist Church. She was employed with Burpee Seed Company for 10 years in customer service and also as a manager at Health Service Employee Credit Union (now Aegis).
Margery was a great cook and was known for her canning skills, especially her canned jelly! She enjoyed tending to her garden, enjoyed playing cards, singing and was very active in her Church. Above all she loved her family and always put them first - she was an awesome grandmother. She loved traveling with her husband or anyone for that matter that had an available seat in the car.
Margery is survived by her husband H. Martin of Clinton, IA.; one daughter - Marcia (Dan) Larson of Clinton, IA.; two sons - Daniel (Pat) Jacobsen of Clinton, IA., David (Brenda) Jacobsen of Coal Valley, IL.; four grandchildren - Corey (Chad) Schroeder of Clinton, IA., Jason (Stephanie) Jacobsen of Riverside, IA., Nathan Larson of Clinton, IA., Katrina Larson of Clinton, Ia.; five great grandchildren - Zoey, Olivia, Zerek, Grace, Logan and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Margery in death were her parents, one granddaughter - Ciara, three brothers - Allen, Robert and Dean and one infant brother Rex.
Memorials made will be directed to the wishes of the family.
