Obituary for Margaret Murphy

Margaret M. Murphy, 88, of Clinton, Iowa passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center - North Campus. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, at Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, at the Church. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Margaret was born one of nine children on May 12, 1926 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Wilbur and Catherine (Burns) Ruppenkamp. She was raised in West Branch, Iowa attending school at St. Patrick's in Iowa City and graduating high school in West Branch. She went on to graduate from Marycrest College in Davenport, Iowa and would continue her education by acquiring her dietician certificate. She went through her internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Following her internship she worked for various hospitals throughout her career including: Iowa City, St. Louis, Peoria and East Moline.
Margaret was united in marriage to Edward 'Jim' Murphy at St. Patrick's Church in Iowa City, they later moved to Clinton - Jim passed away on May 19, 1997.
Margaret had a caring heart and her loving spirit will be missed by her family and friends.
Margaret is survived by two sisters - Mary (Bill) Long of Moline, IL., Rita Greaber of Atlanta, GA.; her twin brother - Father Raymond J. Ruppenkamp of Clinton, IA.; one brother in-law - Sheldon Moe of Naperville, IL., with many nieces and nephews and her special friend - Sister Jeanne d'Arc O.S.F.
Preceding Margaret in death were her parents, her husband, and five sisters.
Memorials made should be directed to Prince of Peace Church.
