Mrs. Margaret L. Heck, 88, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at the Alverno on August 2, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Margaret was born June 16, 1927 in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, the daughter of Hugh and Annie (Morrison) Harte. Margaret was very proud to be a member of the St. Johns Ambulance Brigade in Northern Ireland during WWII. She was united in marriage to Edward 'Ed' Heck on April 10, 1950 in Clinton, Iowa.
Margaret was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Clinton. Margaret was a homemaker and also worked for at Henry's Drive-in for 10 years, she also worked for the Job Corps in the 1960's.
Margaret loved nature and would sit for hours watching the outdoor life. Every year she would volunteer at the Rock River Christian Camp cooking many meals - she was a great cook! Margaret loved her family very much especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew her.
Margaret is survived by one daughter - Annie Edmonds of Mesa, AZ.; three sons - Patrick (Dottie) Heck of Clinton, IA., Rob (Cindy) Heck of Maquoketa, IA., Brian (Terri) Heck of Clear Lake, IA., with fourteen grandchildren and many great grand children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband- Edward, one daughter- Brenda, one son- William, one grandson - Chad Edmonds and one brother.
