Obituary for Margaret Blackwell (Jaramillo)

Margaret Ann Blackwell, 76, of Clinton, Iowa (formerly of Cleveland, Tennessee), passed away at home on Thursday, September 16, 2021. Honoring her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service occurs Friday, September 24, at 10 am at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Cleveland, Tennessee. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Margaret was born December 13, 1944 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Rose and Joseph Jaramillo. She was united in marriage to Virgil Lee “Bert” Blackwell on October 9, 1963 – Bert recently passed in 2019.

Margaret worked as a line-operator for the Schering Plough Corporation.

Margaret loved shopping, especially going to estate and garage sales. She was also an avid reader. Margaret enjoyed spending time watching the Hummingbirds at her feeders and also loved her two dogs – Zeus and Patches. She loved to cook and was known for her fine Mexican cuisine. Above all, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much and will be greatly missed.

Margaret is survived by her daughters Darlene (Brad) Bruggenwirth of Clinton and Debbie (Charles) Strickland of Meigs County, Tenn; grandchildren - Karissa Fullerton, Niki (Roberto) Garcia, Shana Mathis and Christopher Strickland; five great-grandchildren; one brother – Steve (Patricia) Jaramillo of Napa, CA; one sister – Mable (Al) Bell of Sacramento, CA; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Proceeding her in death are her parents, her husband Bert and one brother – Stanley Richard Jaramillo.
