Obituary for Lucille M. Henricksen

Lucille Marguerite Henricksen, 98, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at the Alverno on Monday, March 21, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover, Iowa. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church. Burial will take place at the Miles, Iowa Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lucille was born November 1, 1917 in Vesta, Minnesota, the daughter of Herman and Alice (Hoepner) Schwartz. She was a high school graduate of Vesta High School. Lucille was united in marriage to Carl Henricksen on September 17, 1939 at her parents' home in Sabula, Iowa.
Lucille was a long-time and very active member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Andover; whether it was teaching Sunday School or volunteering for other events. Lucille was a homemaker, however those activities also included helping her husband Carl tend to the family farm. Lucille was very active in politics, and as a faithful Republican, she was always willing to help her party by volunteering for the many Republican events. Lucille's kindness towards others was also shown by volunteering at the hospital - always willing to help. In her free time she loved listening to music, enjoyed working with her husband on the farm and loved tending to her flower gardens. Above all she loved her family very much, especially her son.
Lucille is survived by her son Donald Henricksen of Clinton, IA; one sister - Erma Gruhn of Preston, IA; one brother - Hugo Schwartz of Edmonton, OK; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and the many friends she met throughout her life.
Preceding Lucille in death were her parents, her husband Carl and three brothers - Clifford, Vernon and Ray.
Lucille faithfully donated to the Faith Lutheran Church in Andover, Iowa and Camp Courageous, which is a year-round respite and recreational facility for youth and adults with disabilities located in Monticello, Iowa. The family then requests that in lieu of flowers for her service, you continue Lucille's kindness by donating to the Faith Lutheran Church in Andover or Camp Courageous.
