Obituary for Lori Ann Leary (LaBarr)

Lori Ann Leary, 65, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at her home on Monday, January 10, 2022. Honoring her wishes, cremations rites have been accorded. A celebration of her life will take place from 12pm to 1pm, with time for memory sharing beginning at 12:45pm, on Saturday, January 15, at Lemke Funeral Homes — South Chapel. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Lori was born May 4, 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of David S. Sr. and Georgene (Schrader) LaBarr. She was a graduate of Rudyard High School in Rudyard, Michigan. Lori was united in marriage to Clyde Leary in 1974, they would later divorce but remained friends.

Lori’s entire career was focused on helping others, especially the mentally challenged. She worked at the Clinton County Home, Skyline, New Choices and Imagine the Possibilities. Lori took great pride in giving exceptional care.

While Lori’s life-long passion was working and helping others, she also enjoyed tending to her indoor plants and her baby girl, her fur-baby – Molly. Above all, she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Lori is survived by her father — David S. LaBarr Sr., of Charlotte; two children — Margo Leary of Clinton and Matthew Leary of Charlotte; three grandchildren — Ciera, Christian and Elijah; one brother — David S. (Genelle) LaBarr Jr., of Charlotte; one sister — Julie Jurgess of Clinton; one aunt — Ann (Chuck) Claussen of Charlotte; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, grandparents, one aunt, Joan; two uncles — Bob and Phil and two cousins — Mark and Dean.
