Obituary for Lola E. Kamphuis (Yaddof)

Lola E. Kamphuis, 82, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at home on Monday, July 27, 2020. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 31, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation occurs 2 hours prior from 11 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial immediately follows at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Lola was born October 16, 1937 in Goose Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Ermy (Peterson) Yaddof. She was a graduate of Northeast High School.

Lola was united in marriage to John “Chris” Christian Byers on August 26 1957 – Chris passed away in 1962. She then married Wesley Kamphuis on October 9, 1964 in Clinton - he passed away in 1988.

Lola worked in the housekeeping department for both Jane Lamb and Mercy Hospital for nearly 30 years.

Lola enjoyed reading, sitting in her swing enjoying the outdoors and working through jig-saw puzzles. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be sadly missed.

Lola is survived by her five children – Donald “Don” (Susan) Byers of Clinton, Denise (Mark) Jerson of Bettendorf, IA, Deb (Danny) Powers of Manteno, IL, John (Tamara) Byers of Marion, IA, Kevin (Jenny) Kamphuis of Edmund, OK; with nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two sisters – Delores Wulf of Camanche, IA and LaVonne (Robert) Voss of Clinton; one brother – Archie (Sue) Yaddof of Clinton; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one grandson and two brothers.
