Lois “Nana” Arlene Peck, 92, of Albany, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, after a
brief illness.
Lois was born on July 12, 1927, to Rudolph and Lillian (Moses) Best. She married Howard Peck
and raised two children, Duane and Faith. Lois worked for nearly 30 years as a payroll clerk at
Clinton Engines in Maquoketa, Iowa. Following her husband’s death in 1993, she moved to
Albany, Ill., to be closer to family. In her later years, Lois worked at Cordova International
Raceway and Exelon Quad Cities Station, serving meals and her famous cinnamon rolls.
In her spare time, Lois enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, listening to polka and country music,
working outside in her yard, and spending time with family and friends. Her family remembers
Lois’s independent spirit, sense of adventure, strong work ethic and kind nature.
She is survived by her son, Duane Peck of Bluegrass, Iowa; daughter, Faith Lindley and son-in-
law, Kevin Lindley of Albany, Ill.; granddaughter Stacy (Stan) Kiejko of Rockford, Ill.;
granddaughter Stephanie (Philip) Schmitt of Morrison, Ill., and two great grandchildren, William
and Lucy Schmitt of Morrison, Ill.
Lois was preceded in death by her sister, Madeline Blancke; great grandchild, Jordan Schmitt;
and husband, Howard Peck.
A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Floyd West, will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019,
at 2 p.m. at Lusk Memorial Cemetery, Albany, Ill. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to
Albany Ambulance at 409 S. Church Street, Albany, IL 61230. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
