Obituary for Lillian McKinney

Lillian Marie McKinney, 96, of Clinton passed away peacefully on Friday, March 2nd, at the Alverno Health Care Facility. Cremation rights have been accorded with a memorial service taking place at 11:00 AM on April 21 at the Evangelical Free Church in Clinton. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Lillian was born August 3rd, 1915, in Vining, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Mary (Hrabak) Kouba. Lillian was a 1933 graduate of Toledo High School in Toledo, Iowa. On October 9th, 1938 she married George McKinney in Vining, Iowa. After moving to Preston, she worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, McKinney Chevrolet.
Lillian was a member of the Preston Legion Auxiliary, the Preston Women's Club, Mercy Auxiliary for 25 years, and was a devout, faithful member of the Preston Methodist Church. Upon moving to Clinton, she attended the Evangelical Free Church and became active in many programs. Because of a visual impairment, she regularly attended a local support group, Visually Impaired Persons.
Lillian is survived by a son, Marc (Beth) McKinney of Longmont, Colorado; one daughter-in-law, Son Ok McKinney of Woodstock, Illinois, 4 grandchildren - Matthew (Colleen Carnes) McKinney, Brooke McKinney, Karen McKinney, Kelly (Randy) Moffat; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; one son, Larry; one sister, Dorothy; and one brother, Alvin.
Memorials may be made to the Preston Methodist Church, the Evangelical Free Church of Clinton, The Alverno or the charity of your choice.
