Obituary for LeRoy V. Jacobsen Mr.

LeRoy V. Jacobsen, 94, of Clinton died Saturday, July 9th, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center North. A mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Wednesday July 13th at Prince of Peace Parish. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Tuesday at Lemke Funeral Home South Chapel, and from 9:30am to funeral service at Prince of Peace church. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family.
LeRoy was born in Welton on January 28th, 1917 the son of Henry and Violet (Koppes) Jacobsen. He graduated from Dubuque High School in 1935. LeRoy married Catherine Wallace on June 21st 1943 in DeWitt, Iowa. LeRoy worked as a draftsman/engineer for Central Steel Tube Company and later retired from Central Hydraulics in 1982. He was a member of Prince of Peace parish. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering with small engines and was a pilot during the barn storming era.
LeRoy is survived by his daughter Andrea (James) Bachman of Avon Conn., 3 sons - David (Deborah) Jacobsen of Clinton, la., James (Kathy) Jacobsen of DeWitt, Ia., Larry (Nancy) Jacobsen of Davenport, Ia., and 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Catherine Wallace Jacobsen and great-grandson Austin.
