Obituary for Leonard Rancler Chase

Leonard Rancler Chase, 80, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at the Alverno on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A funeral service will occur at 12 pm on Monday, November 16, at the Church of the Open Door. A visitation will occur one-hour prior from 11 am until the service hour at the church. Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Leonard was born on June 19, 1940 in Jackson County, the son of Leonard and Frieda (Welburn) Chase.

Leonard was united in marriage to Sharon McClelland on July 3, 1959 - Sharon passed in 1988.

Leonard was a factory worker and later drove a truck.

Leonard was a member of the Church of the Open Door, were he enjoyed volunteering and helping out wherever he could.

Leonard loved being outdoors, whether it was playing golf, fishing or just going out for a walk. He also enjoyed socializing with family and friends.

Leonard is survived by his two daughters – Madonna (Gary Ryan) Chase and Laura Chase both of Camanche; two sons – Randy Chase of Camanche and Robert (Jody) Chase of Davenport; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one brother – Junior Chase of TX; three sisters – Janice (Robert) Conklin of Clinton, Ruby Arstorf of Maquoketa and Mary Kilpatrick of Lake City AR; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and coffee pal – Dave.

Preceding Leonard in death are his parents, his wife, son – Johnny Lee, 3 brothers – Gary, Wayne and Chuck and two sisters – Madonna and Nita Russell.
