Lawrence “Larry” H. Snow, 79, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at home on Saturday, February 13, 2021. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with a gathering of family and friends, celebrating his life, taking place from 3 pm to 5 pm on Thursday, February 18, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Dr.). Burial takes place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Larry was born November 15, 1941 in Otis, Massachusetts, the son of Lawrence and Bertha (Hood) Snow. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Larry was united in marriage to Kay Stewart on June 29, 1998 in Hanover, Illinois.
Larry worked for Quality Concrete, retiring after 50 years of service.
Larry loved to golf, especially with his friend Tom Thomas. He also loved traveling with his wife all over the country, as well as, taking trips on the river on their river cabin cruiser. He was an avid hot air balloon enthusiast and also loved traveling and seeing the country from above. He was a supporter and participant in the “Clinton Balloon’s in June” yearly festival. When he wasn’t traveling on land or air, he enjoyed spending time in his wood working shop or just being outdoors, tending to his garden. Above all, he loved his family very much and will be greatly missed.
Larry is survived by his wife – Kay of Clinton, his three children – Terry Snow of Clinton, Cherie Edfors of Clinton and Laurie (Scott) Wheelington of Lydon, Illinois; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren – with one on the way; three siblings – Patricia Thomas, Robbie (Roxanne) Snow and Chester (Donna) Snow; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
