Laverna Lucille Rieger, 78, of Goose Lake, Iowa passed away on October 10, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center - North. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15 at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 manufacturing drive - west side of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). A visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Laverna was born October 16, 1934 in Hosmer, South Dakota the daughter of Herbert and Erna (Weisz) Aman. She was a 1953 graduate of Hosmer High School. Laverna was united in marriage to Harry Rieger on June 10, 1956 in Hosmer, South Dakota.
Laverna was a past member of the Loyal Order of Moose. She enjoyed visiting and shopping at flea markets, craft shows and auctions. It was during these trips that she began collecting over 300 unique tea pots and many custom pieces of jewelry. She loved to socialize with friends, especially during card club and with her family when they dined out. She loved continuing with her German heritage of baking, especially pies. Above all she loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.
Laverna is survived by her husband Harry of Goose Lake, IA.; two daughters - Cindy (Dean) Bartels of Charlotte, IA., Robin (Chris) Cravatta of Camanche, IA.; one son - Steve (Theresa) Rieger of Andover, IA. ; one sister - Betty (Milton) Mohr of Hosmer, S.D. and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
