Obituary for Larry Lee Rieck

Larry Lee Rieck, 78, of Fulton, Illinois, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 8, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will occur 2 hours prior to the funeral service from 11 am until the time of service at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Larry was born August 27, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Gladys (Vittetoe) Rieck. Larry served his Country in the United State Army from 1958 to 1964 – stationed in Germany.

Larry was united in marriage to Nancy Andresen on September 28, 1961 in Clinton, Iowa. Larry worked in the Maintenance Department at North Western Steel and Wire in Sterling, Illinois.

Larry loved wood working and working on John Deere tractors. He also enjoyed being outdoors whether it was working in his garden or going out fishing. Above all, he loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by 2 daughters – Kelly Marsty of Fulton, IL and Cathy (Merle) McQuistion of Fulton, IL; 1 son – Kevan (Deb) Rieck of Cordova, IL; his grandchildren – Ryan Belcher, Damian Rieck, Colton Merema, Devin Merema, Tiffany Merema, Candi Kuehl, Levi Rieck, Logan Rieck, Tyler Rieck, Nicole Lund, Cody Brands, Joshua Brands; many great-grandchildren; 7 sisters – Rae Terrock, Ramona Lohberg, Linda Rieck, Shelba (David) Van Horn, Kristeen (Dan) Wright, Lannette (Roger) Holmes, Rhonda Pieper; 3 brothers – James (Jeanne) Rieck, Bruce (Carol) Rieck and Dennis Rieck; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding Larry in death were his parents, his wife – Nancy, 2 daughters – Tammy and Connie; 1 son – Mark and 1 brother – Frederick.
