Obituary for Larry Eugene Malone

Larry Eugene Malone, 67, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at Lantern Park Specialty Care in Coralville, Iowa on Thursday July 12, 2018. Funeral services will take place at 11 am on Monday, July 16, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton. A visitation will occur 1-1/2 hours prior to the funeral service on Monday from 9:30 am until time of service at the Church. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Larry was born September 16, 1950 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Robert and Marcella (McNeal) Malone. He was a 1968 graduate of Clinton High School. Following High School, he served his Country in the U.S. Navy. Upon his return from service, he acquired an Associates of Arts Degree from Iowa State University and then acquired an Associates of Applied Electrical Science from Scott Community College.
As a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, his faith was very important to him and he was involved in many Bible studies and enjoyed socializing with his Church family. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
Larry worked at International Paper, as an Operator, for 10 years.
Larry enjoyed listening to music and also played the Bass guitar. He also enjoyed going to J & D Steakhouse. He loved his fur-babies, his dog – Donavan and his cat – Pudding. Above all, he loved his family very much especially his grandchildren and special nephew Shaun.
Larry is survived by 1 daughter – Angela (Charlie) Heggen III of Moline, IL 1 grandson – Charlie Heggen IV of Moline, IL; 1 sister – Suzy Malone of Clinton, IA; with several aunt, uncles, cousins and friends.

Preceding Larry in death were his parents, granddaughter Karly, brother in-law John and nephew Shaun.
