Larry J. Andresen, 72, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at Genesis Medical Center - East Campus on Sunday, June 14, 2015. Honoring Larry's final wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with a memorial service taking place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will be held two hours prior to the memorial service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Center Grove Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Larry was born January 17, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Nicholas and Ester (Schroeder) Andresen. On October 18, 1965 Larry was united in marriage to Mary Kuhse in Rock Island, Illinois. Larry served his country in the U.S. Army.
Larry was a mechanic by trade and over the years he was also a truck driver and owned and operated a sod company.
Back in the day, Larry loved running his race car in many area races. However, his true talent was in his skillful hands - Larry loved woodworking and could make, build or repair just about anything - a true jack of all trades.
Larry is survived his wife of 49 years - Mary of Clinton, IA.; one daughter - Amy Andresen of Clinton, IA.; two sons - David (Julie) Andresen of Iowa City, IA., Tom (Shanna) Andresen of Camden, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; five sisters and one brother, with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Larry in death were his parents, and three sisters.
