Kevin G. Kinkaid, 60, of Camanche, Iowa passed away at home on Friday, July 28, 2017. A celebration of his life will occur from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. A private family burial will take place, at a later date, at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Kevin was born February 27, 1957 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Gerald and Louise (Jensen) Kinkaid. He was a 1975 graduate of Clinton High School. Kevin worked for many years at International Paper, until it's closure.
Kevin loved watching or participating in all sports - he loved playing pool for the Clinton Pocket Billiards Association, he loved the outdoors – hunting, fishing, and loved boating on the river and in his younger days, he loved water skiing. He loved watching NASCAR (Tony Stewart) and finally he loved watching and following his Philadelphia Eagles football team, the Chicago White Sox's and the Chicago Bulls. He also enjoyed tending to his pet Cockatoo bird. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Kevin is survived by his parents – Louise (Burt) Melvin of Clinton, IA and Gerald (JoAnn) Kinkaid of Clinton, IA; his two children – Kristen (Eric) Miensma of Albany, IL and David Kinkaid of Clinton, IA; three grandchildren – Klara Miensma and Olivia and Finn Kinkaid at home; one sister – Joyce Wheeler of Clinton, IA; one brother Kenneth (Ann) Kinkaid of Fulton, IL; one step-brother – Mark (Gina) Melvin of Ankeny, IA; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Kevin in death were his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
