Obituary for Kenneth Lee Williams Sr.

Kenneth Lee Williams Sr., 80 of Modesto, California (formerly of Clinton) passed away on April 25, 2018. A Funeral service will occur at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 5, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will occur 1 hour prior to the funeral service from 11 am until time of service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Kenneth was born December 27, 1937 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Abraham Williams and Fanny (Pigues) Henderson. He was a graduate of Clinton High School and continued his education at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mortuary Science. Kenneth served his Country in the United States Air Force – a veteran of the Korean War.
Kenneth was united in marriage to Ellen Paeva on April 1, 1988 in Santa Cruz, California.
Kenneth was a member of the Big Valley Grace Church where he was an usher for 20 years. His Church and Church family were very important to him. He was also a 22-year member of Kiwanis International, serving as Lieutenant Governor from 2015 to 2016 and also served as President of the Greater Modesto Chapter of Kiwanis from 2013 to 2014. He was also a member of the Korean War Vets – Modesto Chapter 316 where he served as Treasurer. He also served on the Modesto Welcoming Committee for the Better Business Bureau.
Kenneth worked for AT&T in Sales and also owned and operated Sun-N-Specs Store for 10 years.
Kenneth was a very personable, friendly and outgoing man – strangers quickly became a dear friend. He was an active volunteer throughout his community. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 30 years Ellen of Modesto, CA; 1 daughter – Sylvia Bradford of MI; 2 sons – Kenneth Williams Jr, of TX and Kenya Young of MI; sisters – Juliana Whitener of Clinton, Anita Lewis, Dianna Davis and Lolitta Fobbs all of CA; brothers – Harry Carr of IL, Richard Hagan and Robert Hagan all of CA; 1 daughter in-law Sonja Williams of Detroit, MI.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son – Andre Williams, sister – Barbara Horton and brother – Lawrence James Carr.
