Obituary for Kenneth Daniels

Kenneth C. Daniels, 94, of Glenview, Illinois, formerly of New Braunfels, Texas and Muscatine, Iowa passed away April 26, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Jeanne, who was born and raised in Clinton, Iowa; loving father of Steven (Carol) of Grinnell, IA., and Scott (Karen) of Glenview, IL.; proud grandfather of Chad, Major - US Army (Kim), Kevin (Monica), Kristin (Jason Wiegel), Ashley and Andrew; great grandfather of Alexander, Wesley, and Emmalene; dear brother of Marion (Jim) Finley of Muscatine, IA., and the late Norman (Lillian) Daniels; fond uncle of Jeanne Nichting, Norman Daniels, Diane Daniels, the late Karen Jacobs, Janet Luedtka, Pat Finley, and Dean Finley.
Ken served in the Pacific Theatre of War during WWII in the USMC, and saw action on Guadalcanal and Saipan. He was active in the Methodist Church, Rotary, Shriners and Masons. Ken retired from Kent Feeds, Inc. where, as Marketing and Operations Manager in Sioux City, Iowa, he was instrumental in the expansion of the company in the area. He returned to Muscatine as Vice President of Marketing where, under his leadership, the company expanded to twelve plants that served the central United States.
After retirement, Ken and Jeanne moved to Braunfels, where he was active at the First United Methodist Church and other civic organizations. Ken was a master gardener, wood carver, writer, harmonica musician, and water color painter. Ken was also a Toastmaster, and enjoyed social activities with friends and family.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 manufacturing drive - just west of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). A visitation will be held prior to the Memorial service from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors by local AMVETS Post 28 will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery following the Memorial service. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family locally with arrangements.
