Kenneth "Bubba" Bailey,47, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Mercy South Skilled Care Unit in Clinton, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded with a Funeral Service taking place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, at Greater True Love Baptist Church (955 South 18 St. Clinton, IA). A visitation will occur two hours prior to the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Church. Following the burial a Repass will take place at the Church. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Kenneth Bailey (aka "Bubba") was born January 23, 1968 in Clinton Iowa to Hazel (Honaker) and Edwin Bailey. Kenneth - he was one of the 1985 Clinton High football champions -undefeated. He continued his education at Clinton Community College. Kenneth was an outgoing individual who spread the love with his smile and kindness. He touched many in this town and beyond. He was the baby boy of 10. Kenneth loved the Lord and he loved his family. He loved and cared for his two sons, Kenneth Bailey Jr. and Kienan Bailey. He was preceded in death by Mother Hazel (Honaker), Father Edwin Theodore Bailey, three sisters - Wanda, Martha Jean, Jacquetta and two brothers - Alvin and Kenneth Anderson.
Kenneth Bailey worked 10 years at Eagle Point nursing home as a maintenance man, he also worked for Zion Lutheran Church, where he attended. Kenneth Bailey will be remembered by all for his undying determination and charismatic personality. He was always sharing his light-heartedness and laughter. His biggest commitment to this community was his family and love for kids, his friends, football, wrestling, kick boxing, cooking - always giving his compassion and unconditional love as well as his big smile to boot. Due to a freak accidental fall Kenneth became a quadriplegic, however he had a will to live and keep it moving, especially for his children!
He is survived by his children - Kenneth Bailey Jr., Kenian Bailey, sisters - Pamelia Bailey of Los Angeles, CA, Gwendolyn Harris of Portsmouth, OH, Jacqueline Bailey, Clinton, IA, Mildred (Durant) Graham of Lancashire, England; brothers - Tony Bailey of Disputanta, VA, Robin Bailey of Columbus, OH; aunts - Charlene Moon of Clinton, IA, Edna Barner of Oakland, CA, Martha Weems of South Carolina with many nieces, nephews, cousins (including special cousins Kathy and Robin Moon) and his best friends - De André Williams and Jim Harris.
