Obituary for Kathleen Reistroffer

Kathleen J. Reistroffer, 73, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals on Monday, August 7, 2017. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton. A visitation will occur from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10 at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Drive. An additional visitation will occur one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday at the church. Burial will take place at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Kathleen was born November 6, 1943 in Bryant, Iowa the daughter of Arthur and Katherine (Blievernicht) Wenzel. Kathleen was united in marriage to Benjamin Reistroffer on July 29, 1974 in Morrison, Illinois - Benjamin passed away in 1976.
Kathleen was a long-time member of the Zion Lutheran Church. She worked at Mercy Hospital for 28 years, retiring in 2000, in the Dietary Department.
Kathleen enjoyed traveling, crocheting, enjoyed making afghans and later on in life loved working word search games. She also enjoyed watching family entertainment Television programs. She loved the many cats she took care of throughout her life.
Kathleen is survived by two sisters – Mary-Jo Rowland of Clinton, IA, Jo-Ann (Joe) Schlecht of Bellevue, IA; two brothers – Charles (Lenore) Wenzel of Port Saint Lucie, FL, and Paul (Marianne) Wenzel of Clinton, IA; one sister in-law Linda Wenzel of Clinton, IA with several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding Kathleen in death were her parents, her husband and one brother Bill.
