Obituary for Karen Janeen Cavanagh (Buelow)

Karen Janeen Cavanagh, 73, of Clinton Iowa passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, May 29, 2020. A graveside service will take place at 12 pm on Tuesday, June 2, at Lusk Cemetery, Albany. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Karen was born March 14, 1947 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Leo and Janeen (Malone) Buelow. She was a graduate of Clinton High School and attended Clinton Community College.

Karen was married to Terry Taylor in 1964, they would later divorce. Karen was then united in marriage to Kenneth “Kenny” Cavanagh in 1978.

Karen was a member of the Gateway Faith Fellowship Church, Fulton.

She worked as a line operator at GE (Morrison) until the plant closed. She then entered the Health Care field as a CNA and medication aide.

Karen loved being outdoors, especially fishing. She also enjoyed surfing the web on her computer and was a faithful follower of the game show network and watching “Days of Our Life’s”. She loved all the dogs she had in her life, especially her Huskey – Baby. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter - Dianne (Dan) Piercy of Thomson, IL; sons – Terry (Sonya) Taylor and Joe (Becci Peterson) Taylor both of Clinton; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; one sister – Debra (Brian) Bradley of Thomson, Il; two aunts – Linda (Ed) Fall of Camanche and Judy Brown of Clinton; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding Karen in death are her parents, husband – Kenny, one sister and other family members.
