June was born at home in Clinton, Iowa on October 20, 1926. She was the daughter of Charles and Lena (Otten) McMahon. June began working at age 15, first at the Clinton Toy factory to help support her family while still attending Clinton High School. She worked for Burpee Seed Company, was a telephone switchboard operator and retired from DuPont after years of working in their cellophane department.

June married Jim Gaffey in 1951 and was widowed in 1957. In 1960 she married Ralph Orsi of Prophetstown, IL and they had three children; one son, David Orsi of Clinton, and two daughters, Nita (Gregg) Shaw of St. Louis, Missouri and Donna (Kurt) Winter of Clinton.

June was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1970. She remained a faithful, active member of the Clinton, Iowa congregation until her death. June loved speaking to people about her faith through Bible passages, and taking care of her family and home. She loved showing hospitality by inviting friends and family regularly for gatherings.

She is survived by her three children and her sister, Dolores Snyder of Fulton, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Ruth Luckritz and two brothers, Charles “Bob” McMahon and James McMahon, all of Clinton; a niece and three nephews.

Special thanks to all the wonderful caregivers from Compassus Hospice and Eagle Point Nursing Staff including Lindsay, Cori, Christy and Anna. Also special thanks to dear friends, Debbie Shaw and Karen Jackson for their loving care.
