Judith Irene Barrows, 72, of Fulton, Illinois (formerly of Camanche, Iowa) passed away on November 15, 2014 at Eagle Point Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Cremation rites will be accorded with a memorial service taking place at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, at Lemke Funeral Home - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Judith was born September 28, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Gerald and Ellen (Tigh-Johnson) Borup. She was a 1960 graduate of Clinton High School and furthered her education with a Bachelors Degree from Mount Saint Clare College.
Judith retired from the Iowa Department of Human Services. She enjoyed many activities in life including traveling, shopping and visiting family. She loved animals, especially her pets. She was hard working however maintained a carefree lifestyle that was supported by her happy go lucky demeanor. She will be missed by the many friends she made over the years and most certainly by her loving family.
Judith is survived by one son - Jeffrey (Velvet) Barrows of Greenwood, AR.; two grandchildren - Addison at home and Nick of Rudy, AR.; one sister - Carol Lobb of Galveston, TX; one niece- Sarah (Robert) Christie of Southern Pines, NC. and many many friends.
Preceding Judith in death were her parents and her son Gregory.
Memorials made should be directed to the Clinton Humane Society.
