Joyce A. Jensen, 75, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals on Friday, August 18, 2017. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Drive. A visitation will occur from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23 at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Joyce was born June 23, 1942 in Fulton, Illinois the daughter of Jacob and Jenny VanKampen. Joyce was a graduate of Fulton, High School. She was united in marriage to Vernon Jensen on January 23, 1961 in Clinton, Iowa.
She was a long-time member of the Gateway Faith Fellowship Church in Fulton.
Joyce started her career working at Burpee Seed Company, later at Nielsen Clearing House and finally PFC in Camanche - retiring after 20+ years. She was also a loving wife and mother, always taking care of her family.
Joyce enjoyed various crafts and enjoyed creating scrap books for the family. She loved going to her grandchildren's school and sports events. She enjoyed doing various activities with her sisters and loved decorating the house for the holidays. She deeply loved her fur babies, her dogs, Max and Sassy. Above all she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her husband Vernon of Clinton, IA; one daughter – Deborah (Robert) Keen of Clinton, IA; one son David (Tracy) Jensen of Clinton, IA; her grandchildren – Travis, Zane, Rylee and Emersen; one sister – Marlene (Bob) Buck of Fulton, IL; two brothers – Al VanKampen and Richard (Linda) VanKampen both of Fulton, IL; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Joyce in death were her parents, two sisters and three brothers.
