Obituary for Joseph F. Lane

Joseph F. Lane, 79, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at Mercy Medical Center - North facility on May 8, 2014. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clinton. A visitation will be held an hour and a half prior to the funeral service from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the Church. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Joseph was born August 29, 1934 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Joseph H. and Elma (Foss) Lane. He was a 1953 graduate of Clinton High School. Joseph served his County in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. He retired from the Clinton DuPont Plant after 35 years.
Joseph enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and spending time in Wisconsin at the cabin he and his Dad built; he also told stories of the infamous Eddie Gein. Joseph also enjoyed tinkering in his garage with many projects, in particular boats and motor scooters. He enjoyed going to Sisters restaurant and chatting with the retirees of DuPont's at their breakfast club. Joseph also had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing tricks on people.
Joseph is survived by one daughter - Julie Malone of Messina, NY.; two sons- Bruce (Robin Tilton) Lane of Mason City, IA., Joel (Holly LaFrance) Lane of Brainerd MN.; eight grandchildren- Eric Myers, Jasmine Lane, Brandon Lane, Zach Van Dorn, Zane Van Dorn, Adam Malone, Katelynn and Jeremy Malone; two great grandchildren - Madilynn and Makenna Van Dorn with two additional great grandchildren on the way, and special friend Wayne Wilke.
Preceding Joseph in death were his parents and his sister.
