Obituary for Joseph Dunn

Joseph 'Joe' Dunn, of Goose Lake, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on December 27, 2014. Honoring his final wish, cremation rites have been accorded with a memorial service and burial taking place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Joe was born February 10, 1930 in rural Charlotte, Iowa the son of Lillie (Herzberg) and Joseph Francis Dunn, II. He attended the Clinton County rural school system. He was united in marriage to Janice Gladhill in Morrison, Illinois on December 1, 1956.
Joe was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church in Goose Lake, Iowa. He was also a member of the Goose Lake Saddle Club.
At the beginning of his career, Joe worked for the Army Corps of Engineers as a supervisor, painting many Lock and Dams in Iowa and Illinois. He then worked for his brother in-law, Clifford Moehr, in Goose Lake, Iowa for 18 years. He moved on to run his own painting business, Dunn Painting and Contracting Company in Goose Lake. In 1979 he began working for Clinton Corn Processing and then ADM as an Evaporator Operator where he would eventually retire in 1998.
Joe loved to fish and boat and was an avid Cubs fan. He also loved socializing with his friends daily at the Goose Lake Post Office.
Joe is survived by his wife of 58 years Janice Dunn of Goose Lake, IA.; three daughters - Belinda (Allen) Sullivan of Preston, IA., Brenda Dunn of Bryant, IA., Jolene (Vincent Farnham) Decker of Camanche, IA.; and from a previous marriage one son - Joseph Dunn of Camanche IA., and two daughters; Four grandsons - Brandon of Goose Lake, IA., Andrew and Jordan of Preston, IA. and Cedar Rapids, IA., Tyler of Bryant, IA.; with three sisters - Shirley (Andy) Andresen of Camanche, IA., Janice Bormann of Goose Lake, IA., Pat (Jim) Driscoll of Preston, IA., with many nieces, nephews and friends and his beloved dog Bobo who he loved very much.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and five sisters.
