Obituary for Joseph "Joe" Bohannon

Joseph "Joe" C. Bohannon, 37, of Miles, Iowa succumbed to his injuries following an automobile accident on March 2, 2016. Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 7, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. A private family memorial service will occur on Tuesday, March 8, at the funeral home.
Joe was born May 3, 1978 in Covington, Kentucky the son of William and Gail (Southworth) Bohannon. He attended Davenport West High School. Joe was united in marriage to Amber Kyarsgaard on November 8, 1997 in Clinton, Iowa; they would later divorce however, remain best friends.
Joe worked for many years at Nestlé Purina in Clinton and was also self-employed.
Joe lived life to the fullest, enjoying everything, whether it was being outdoors, going to the beach, riding around in his jeep, supporting his beloved Cincinnati Bengals or just cooking/grilling for friends and family. He could light up a room with his contagious smile. Joe was a good father who loved his children very much and they loved him. He loved babies and not just his own and greatly enjoyed holding them; he would be the first to change a dirty diaper. Joe had no enemies and was always willing to help not just his friends or family but even a stranger he just met and that stranger quickly became another great friend. Above all he loved his family very much, especially his children. There is a large void that is left in the hearts of his family and friends - they will miss him immensely.
Joe is survived by his father and mother - William Bohannon of Arlington, TX and Gail Bohannon of Plantation, FL; the mother of his children and best friend Amber Kyarsgaard of Camanche, IA; his mother and father in-law Mike and Mindy Kyarsgaard of Clinton, IA; his children Noah, Gracie, Paislie and Oliver all at home; one sister - Genessa (Aaron) Charlet of Geneseo, IL; one brother in-law - Aaron (Twila) Kyarsgaard of Camanche, IA; three nieces - Emilie, Abby and Korrel; two nephews - Logan and Jagger all at home, as well as the numerous special friends he met throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Memorials made can be directed to the family for an education trust fund for Joe's children.
