Obituary for John Allen Carder

John Allen Carder, 54, of Clinton, Iowa passed away in the loving arms of his Sister Loretta on Thursday February 21st, 2013 at Ravenwood Nursing Home and Rehab in Waterloo, Iowa. A private family funeral service will be held Monday, February 25th, at 11:00 a.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (west side of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). The family will receive friends during a one hour visitation just prior to the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25th, at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel. Burial will take place at the Andover Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
John was born January 3rd, 1959 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Keith and Shirley (Eickert) Carder.
For many years John worked as a carpenter. He loved to go fishing, enjoyed the outdoors- especially with his family. He also enjoyed boxing when he was younger. He was very involved with Democratic campaigns.
John is survived by his Father- Keith Carder of Clinton, Ia., one daughter – Sara Carder of Mason City, IA.; one son - Keith Carder II of Mason City, IA.; two step sons - Brady Ryan of Mason City, IA., Nathan Ryan of Mason City, IA., one granddaughter - Hallee of Mason City, IA.; three sisters- Loretta (Phil) Coppess of Clinton, IA., Brenda (Everett) O'Shogay of Cedar Rapids, IA., Pam (Chris) Reedy of Clinton, IA.; three brothers – Bruce (Joyce) Carder of Cedar Rapids, IA., Jim (Sammy) Carder of Sabula, IA., Kelly (Andrea) Carder of Clinton, IA., and many nieces and nephews and special loving companion Julie.
He was preceded in death by his Mother - Shirley, one sister – Paula, one brother- Kent and his grandparents.
The family would like to especially thank all of the Doctors, Nurses and support staff at Saint Anthony's Hospital in Rockford, Illinois, Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab in Waterloo, Iowa and Care Initiatives Hospice, Waterloo, Iowa.
