Obituary for Jodi Lynn Housenga (Mojeiko)

A tragic accident took the life of Jodi Lynn Housenga, 54, of Fulton, Illinois on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with a visitation taking place from 3 pm to 5 pm on Wednesday, June 24, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive) – please dress casual. A celebration of her life will immediately follow at her residence. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Jodi was born October 23, 1965 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Jack and Linda (Becker) Mojeiko. She was a 1984 graduate of Clinton High School.

Jodi was united in marriage to Ken Housenga on March 19, 1997 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She worked as a corrections officer for the State of Illinois for many years.

Jodi was an avid Cubs fans and she loved listening to music. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed gardening and mushroom hunting. She also loved all of her fur-babies. She also enjoyed sitting by the swimming pool and loved to travel. Above all, she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren, and will be sadly missed.

Jodi is survived by her husband Ken of Fulton; 2 daughters - Mindy (Tadd) Van Kampen and Brittny Hayes both of Fulton, Il; four sons – Corbin Hayes of Fulton, IL, Michael (Megan) Housenga of Eldridge, IA, Rusty Housenga of Fulton, IL, Derek (Jessi) Housenga of Clinton, IA; 7 grandchildren - Brayden, Braxton, Benson Van Kampen, Makenzie and Mia Housenga, Dawson and Hadley Housenga; her mother – Linda Karr of Fulton, IL; sister - Vicki (John) Gruhn of Sabula, IA., two brothers - Richard (Ann) Mojeiko of Clinton, IA, Ryan (Angela) Mojeiko of Clinton, IA and many friends.

Preceding Jodi in death were her father – Jack Mojeiko, her very special step-father – Ed Karr and one sister – Debbie.

Jodi was proud to be a registered member of the Iowa Donor Network – even in death Jodi will save the life’s of many.
