Jesse Guidry, Jr., 68, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at MercyOne Medical Center on Friday, March 18, 2022. Funeral services occur at 12 pm on Saturday, March 26, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. A visitation occurs one hour prior, from 11 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial takes place at Springdale Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Jesse was born July 1, 1953 in Ponchatoula, Louisianna, the son of Jesse, Sr. and Genevia (Berry) Guidry. Jesse was united in marriage to Bertha James on January 6, 1984 in Clinton, Iowa.

Jesse is survived by his wife – Bertha Guidry of Clinton, one daughter – Tamika Mitchel of Clinton, three sisters – Faye Davis of Clinton, Jessie Mae Batts of Clinton and Clara Russel of Ponchatoula, LA; five favorite nephews – Ivory Davis of Davenport, IA, Samuel Guidry, Timmy Guidry, Lovell Broadenaux and Matt Austin Jr. all of Clinton, IA; and many nieces and other nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter – Shontial Buckels, one brother – Lawrence Meyers and two sisters – Essie Austin and Beatrice Broadenaux.

Jesse liked to cook, golf and talk a lot of trash.
