Jennie Louise Starbuck, 71, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, November 20, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm, the day of the service, at the Funeral Home. A private family burial will take place at the Rock Island National Cemetery on Tuesday.

Jennie was born September 4, 1946 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, the daughter of Gordon and Carol (Burhans) Schmid. She was a 1965 graduate of Delavan-Darien High School. Jennie was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Starbuck on June 11, 2005 in Clinton, Iowa.

Jennie's career included 19 years with First National Bank and later retired from the Clinton County Treasurers Office. Jennie was gifted to serve many positions in different local service organizations and clubs including Women Club, WoW, Kiwanis, WA TAN YE, and Clinton Main Street, among others through the past 30 years.

Jennie enjoyed crafts, sewing and needle point. She was an amazing interior decorator and a wonderful cook. Jennie also found time to travel, which she greatly enjoyed. Above all, she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren.

Jennie is survived by her two daughters – Jane (Scott) Shank of Wayland, IA and JoElyn (Mark) Holmes of Peoria, IL; 4 step sons – Jim, Tom, Dave and Steve Starbuck, all of Clinton, IA; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; two sisters – Marjorie (Earl) Kohn of Townsend, MT and Karie Schmid of Kissimmee, FL; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Preceding Jennie in death were her parents - Carol and Gordon Schmid, her husband – Bob Starbuck, former husband-James Dopp and one sister – Christine Gorecki.
In lieu of flowers, all memorials will be divided between the local American Cancer Society and the Clinton Showboat Theater.
