Obituary for Janice Jean Struve (Spalding)

Janice Jean Struve, 78, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at home on Friday, February 4, 2022. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial service occurs at 12 pm on Saturday, February 12, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. A visitation occurs 2 hours prior, from 10 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Janice was born August 6, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of John and Marge (Miller) Spalding. Janice was a graduate of Miles High School and much later in life graduated from Clinton Community College, with honors, acquiring an Associate’s Degree in Administrative Support Services – an accomplishment she was very proud of.

Janice was united in marriage to Larry Struve on March 24, 1967 in Camanche, Iowa.

She was a long-time member of the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Janice initially worked at area factory’s and concluded that portion of her life at GE in Morrison. She would then utilize her College Degree in Administrative Support Services.

Janice loved spending time outdoors, especially tending to her gardens. She also enjoyed passing the time cross stitching. Janice loved to travel seeing the World, traveling both Nationally and Internationally. She adored her little fur baby - her little dog – Buddy. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be incredibly missed.

Janice is survived by her four children, Jacqueline (Leon) Schoumaker of Mora, MN, Daniel Struve of Clinton, IA, Staci Lamp and Gordon Struve both of Clinton; three grandsons, Logan, Brandon and Tyler; one great-grandchild – Aleeyah; six siblings – Judy (Paul) Dague, Sharon (Gerry) Schroeder, Carol Spencer, Sandy Bray, Jim (Lisa) Spalding and Steve (Denise) Spalding; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband – Larry, and one son – Brent.
