Obituary for Janet Parker

Janet Rae Parker, 78, of Clinton, Iowa slipped quietly into everlasting life on Wednesday, February 13th at Mercy Medical Center - North. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20th, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (west side of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19th at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Janet was born January 16th, 1935 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Howard "Howdy" and Alice (Duncan) Parker. She was a 1953 graduate of Clinton High School.
She started her career working for Burpee Seed Company and retired from International Paper.
Janet was a member of Prince of Peace Parish in Clinton.
She enjoyed the outdoors especially camping, fishing and working in the yard. She loved animals dearly and spent much of her time rescuing animals. She was an excellent caregiver especially to her Father in the last years of life. She enjoyed her trips to the river boat and walks through Eagle Point Park.
Janet is survived by one sister - Sandra (Franklin) Benadom of DeWitt, IA.; one brother - Howard "Butch" Parker of Circleville, OH.; three nieces - Deb (Mike) Teeken of Bend, OR., Kelly Grambo of Ohio, Kasey Cradlevaugh of Ohio; one nephew - Kevin (Jacquie) Haack of Davenport, IA. and several great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents - Alice and Howard "Howdy" Parker and her sister in-law- Dana Parker.
