James “Jim” Harry Richmond, 86, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at MercyOne Medical Center on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Funeral services take place at 1 pm on Tuesday, April 4, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. A visitation occurs 2 hours prior from 11 am until the service hour at the Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Jim was born March 7, 1937 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Carl and Elizabeth (Heck) Richmond. He was a graduate of Clinton High School.
Jim was united in marriage to Helen Kuehl on July 14, 1962 in Clinton, Iowa. Jim served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.
Jim was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church, a member of the Odeon Club and a proud member of AMVETS.
Jim worked at Ralston Purina, now Nestlé Purina as a line operator, retiring after 35+ years. He also worked as a crossing guard for the Clinton School System.
Jim loved the outdoors, especially camping and was an avid Cubs fan. He enjoyed traveling and cruises in the Caribbean. Jim loved his furbabies, his dogs – Buddy and Patricia. He also enjoyed socializing with his friends at the AMVETS. Above all he loved his family very much and will be incredibly missed.
Jim is survived by his wife – Helen of Clinton; daughter – Becky (Les) Milford of New York; three grandchildren – Jennifer (Matt) Morrissey, Scott Milford of New York and Sara Milford of New York; one great-grandchild – Adam; and one sister – Lind (Joe Skelton) Dolph of Iowa; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son – James Richmond, six brothers and one sister.
