James "Jim" L. Knight Jr., 62, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals on Tuesday, June 6, 2017. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will take place on Friday, June 9, at 5:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Jim was born November 26, 1954 in Clinton, Iowa the son of James and Marion (Gertson) Knight. He was a graduate of Clinton High School. Jim was united in marriage to Denise Holm on October 3, 1981 in Camanche, Iowa
Jim was a Tool and Die Maker working for various manufacturing companies in the area.
Early in life, Jim enjoyed getting out in the river, fishing and boating, however, his real passion was golfing. He also loved his fur baby – Krissy. Above all, he loved his family very much and will be sadly missed.
Jim is survived by his wife – Denise Knight of Clinton, IA; two sons – James (Candy Wade) Knight III of Clinton, IA and David (Tiffany) Knight of Clinton, IA; six grandchildren; one sister – Pam (Steve) Baker of Rock Island, IL; one brother – Douglas Knight of Merritt Island, FL; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
Preceding Jim in death were his parents; one sister – Cindy and one brother – Dan.
